Dr. Lewis is a United States Air Force veteran who flew 168 combat missions and served as a senior flight surgeon for the Arizona Air National Guard at the rank of lieutenant colonel. Since retiring from the armed forces, Dr. Lewis has focused on providing comprehensive care to people living and working in his community.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma (OU) College of Medicine in Oklahoma City. He then completed a surgery internship and residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. 

Dr. Lewis is a member of the American Medical Association and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).

During his many years of practice, Dr. Lewis has held positions as a medical director and department of emergency medicine chairman.
